Banana Crumb Muffins

Whenever I think of bananas, I think of some tropical area where they’re hanging in bunches from trees. I imagine people carrying fruit baskets on their heads while wearing coconut bras and wrapping sticky rice in banana leaves or something. So how did it come to be that bananas are featured in so many baked items, like banana bread? I just can’t imagine people by the beach firing up their oven to make some banana bread. Unless it was like…

Lei was sitting by the beach, lying in her hammock. The cool evening breeze gently blew over her round, supple breasts. She enjoyed lying topless in the hammock on summer nights. Why restrict her breasts with coconuts, when she could have the glory of nature gently caressing her instead? Nobody came to this beach anyway. It was her little secret.

Her thoughts drifted as the hammock swayed, her nipples hardening slightly from the summer breeze. She was falling asleep when, suddenly, she could hear footsteps nearby. Must be a monkey or something, she thought. She closed her eyes and drifted off, only to wake up to the sight of a man standing over her. Startled, she instinctively put her hands over her chest and sat up in the hammock. “What are you doing here?” Lei asked the stranger.

“Sorry to startle you,” he said. “My name is Keanu. I just love walking on the beach at night, and then I saw you lying here with your eyes closed, and I was concerned about you. I hope I didn’t bother you. I’d love to get to know a pretty girl like you on the island.” His piercing eyes stared right into her soul. Well, it wasn’t really her soul, he was really staring right at Lei’s cleavage. Even though she was trying to cover her breasts with her hands, he could totally see them. The way her breasts were so round, yet not large enough to be cumbersome, and the way they held themselves up, not sagging one bit. He just couldn’t take his eyes off of her chest. And that wasn’t the only thing he was staring at. Her flat stomach, nicely tanned without being unattractively dark. Her grass skirt sagging just a bit to tease him with what treasures were beneath. And her legs! They were so long, so smooth. Oh how he longed to just lie there next to her, caressing her legs and chest with his hands under the beautiful moonlight.

Keanu wasn’t a bad view, either. Lei, even though she was skeptical of this mysterious stranger, couldn’t help but notice his body. He was shirtless, and his chiseled, hairless chest was glistening in the moonlight. His ripped abs rested right above the button in his shorts. What she wouldn’t give to just pull those shorts off. But she just met him a minute ago! That wouldn’t be lady-like.

He seemed friendly enough. But could she trust him? Lei was unsure. Right when they were staring at each other’s bodies, a bunch of bananas suddenly fell into her hammock from the tree above. It startled her, but she was delighted. She loved bananas. She’d peel back the skin and just shove that banana right into her mouth. That sweet, almost creamy texture of the mashed banana rolling around in her mouth… one of the simple pleasures in life she had the privilege of enjoying on the island. She suddenly thought of something.

“You seem like a nice enough guy, but I don’t know if I can trust you. See these bananas that just dropped into my hammock? I want you to make me something out of them. It can be anything. Just something that I’d like. Something that shows me your thoughtfulness.” Keanu loved a challenge. He grabbed the bunch of bananas and ran off to his hut nearby. But what could he make with a bunch of bananas?

Fruit salad seemed so obvious. A beautiful girl like Lei wouldn’t be impressed by that. And there wasn’t enough time to steam any sticky rice in a banana peel. Banana necklace? Too tacky. What’s a boy to do? As he was thinking, Keanu accidentally knocked over a bag of flour in his hut. Flour! He could bake something with the bananas. Women love baked goods. He got out some flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and baking soda, and then combined them with the bananas, which he had mashed with his bare hands. He fired up his KitchenAid mixer, the only kitchen gadget he owned. Within minutes, it had formed a nice, smooth batter. He poured it into a loaf pan he had nearby, and he threw it into his clay oven. As he peered into the oven, he could see the loaf rising and forming a crust. Soon, it was done, and he pulled it out with his alligator-shaped oven mitt, a keepsake his mother had given him. Keanu turned the loaf out onto some wax paper and wrapped it up. Excitedly, he returned with it to Lei.

Lei was delighted. Bananas in a loaf! She had only had the raw form of banana in her mouth. She had entertained the thought of using bananas as some sort of sex toy, but never had she envisioned bananas in a baked good like this. She broke off a piece of the banana bread and popped it in her mouth. The warm, sweet bread had a wonderful aroma and texture. She was in heaven. And she had this man, Keanu, to thank for it.

Lei practically leapt up to grab Keanu by his shorts and pull him into her hammock. She excitedly opened up his shorts to see what this man was packing. She was not disappointed. She wrapped her lips around his large, thick penis, which had become engorged with blood at the sight of Lei’s body on top of him. Keanu deftly removed her grass skirt, revealing that she had a cleanly shaved pubic area that highlighted the blood flow to her labia. He quickly stuck his fingers into her space, as she moaned quietly. Soon, they couldn’t wait any longer. He mounted her like a lion tackling its prey, thrusting his pelvic region into hers. Lei’s eyes rolled into the back of her eyes with pleasure. She hadn’t been touched like this in quite a while. His warm body against hers, she could feel waves of pleasure with every thrust. As the moonlight gently illuminated the two of them in the hammock, Lei reached her climax. She yelled like a hyena in heat, throwing her head back uncontrollably. At the same time, Keanu could feel the pressure building up in his loins, as he released a torrent of his bodily fluid into her. That night, the banana bread had brought them together. The banana bread brought forth the passion.

OK, so it probably didn’t happen that way. I feel like there might have been an older woman involved in the creation of banana bread.

Anyway, I just happened to have some overripe bananas sitting around, so I decided to make something last weekend. I found this recipe for banana crumb muffins and decided to give it a shot. I made some suggested modifications:

Banana Crumb Muffins
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 bananas, mashed
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

I mixed all of those together to make the batter for the muffins.

To make muffins, the batter should probably go into some muffin cups, and so I did just that.

There’s also a crumb topping!

Crumb Topping
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter

I just mixed those together in a small bowl until it came together into this crumby topping.

Then I just sprinkled the crumb topping on top of the muffins.

After 20 minutes in a 375F oven, the muffins are done.

The crumb topping has formed a nice brown, crunchy top on the muffins.

These muffins were a hit. I liked them because they had a nice moist interior, probably because of all the mashed bananas, and then it had a crunchy, sweet top from the crumb topping.

Definitely a keeper. Maybe I’ll try it with something else mixed in, like blueberries.
