Luminous Lychee

Since I enjoyed the lychee cocktails from last time so much, I made even more drinks with lychee! I swear, I’m not some kind of lush. I made some colorful cocktails this time.

Blue Dragon
1.5 oz Soho lychee liqueur
1 oz blue curacao
2.5 oz grapefruit juice
maraschino cherry

I guess it has “dragon” in it because the lychee is Asian, and dragons come from Asia. Or something like that. Anyway, this was pleasantly sweet, almost too sweet maybe. I could still taste the lychee liqueur, though. I’d probably add a bit more grapefruit juice next time, for more tartness.

Lychee Grapefruit Martini
1 oz Soho lychee liqueur
1 oz vodka
0.5 oz lychee syrup
1 oz grapefruit juice
lychee

This one is strong too, like the regular Lychee Martini, but it also has more acidity. It might defeat the purpose of something with “martini” in the name, but I’d probably put more grapefruit juice in it to make it less alcoholic-tasting. The sweetness was good, though. Not cloyingly sweet.

Red Lotus
1.5 oz Soho lychee liqueur
1.5 oz vodka
3 oz cranberry juice
lychee

This one was pretty strong, but I guess that was expected, given that it’s half liquor. Don’t let the pink color fool you, this will probably get you buzzed, if you’re like me. Despite the high alcohol content, it was quite easy to drink.

I suppose that after two weeks of lychee drinks, I should move onto some other theme. But it was so good. Well, maybe I’ll revisit lychee from time to time…
